OUR STORY

Making real weddings since 2014

Someone said, " All journeys have secret destinations of which the traveler is unaware". It seems so true, for little did I know, that someday a philosophy-mathematics graduate with a management degree will be designing weddings!

We Indians are privileged to have helps to manage our homes for us. This is especially true for smaller cities where women prefer to work at someone’s house rather than getting a job outside. And that is exactly how, six years back, in the backyard of my parental home, TWPC was born with two such wonder women by my side!  It is with the help of these two ladies, we designed our first wedding ever!

Over time, with the support of friends and family, we bagged more weddings and that is from where things started getting interesting.

Our First big wedding happened at Jim Corbett:

A national reserve with plenty of resorts having great views of the Jungle. The foundation was a would-be-bride's crazy belief that we could just give her the wedding of her dreams. Without having any experience with handling a destination wedding décor, we had to plan for four functions over two days. So, the pressure on us was real. But it was only matched by loads of excitement. We worked day and night; my house had turned into a storage space. Finally, cartons were packed, taped, and marked, and off we went to give the bride the wedding she deserved.

Our First Online Coverage

As luck would have it, the same Jim Corbett wedding got featured in a popular wedding portal for its offbeat appeal. We had arrived! There has been no looking back since then; green jungle weddings still remain our most popular portfolio.

Over the years, we have received heartfelt reviews from couples. To be able to make someone happy and give them memories they will treasure all their life is what keeps us going. Today, we have a small dedicated team at TWPC. We operate out of Uttarakhand, specializing in turnkey destination weddings in and around the Kumaon and Garhwal hills.

Our special focus has been on sustainable weddings. We wholeheartedly support and encourage minimalistic weddings and intimate gatherings since they are more fun and invest a lot of time in finding creative eco-friendly wedding solutions. Our Bamboo mandap is a classic example of how weddings can be full of fun and environment friendly too! In all our endeavours, we leave no stone unturned in giving you the wedding of your dreams.

KAMAKSHI KOTHIWAL
FOUNDER

As far as I remember I've always been quite enterprising, from making and selling handmade chocolates to buy a Valentine’s Day dress to holding exhibitions of handmade paper bags and envelopes (made by me during the school summer break) to self-funding a holiday, I've done it all.

Wedding Planning happened when I was done juggling between a few jobs that I didn’t quite enjoy. I started in 2009 as a wedding planner with a reputed Delhi-based firm and it was like some bug had bitten me. Today in 2023, when I look back at this journey, all I can say is that I can’t imagine myself doing anything else but this!

What do I like about weddings....

The love stories, the fragrance of mogra, the crazy dance moves, memories, emotions, the chaos, endless cups of tea on those cold winter nights, motichoor ladoos, sampling all the good food, endless phone calls, and hours spent planning a wedding, all the gossip, the lovely clothes and jewellery and of course, the bridezillas, I LOVE IT ALL!!

Life has been like the alluring-mountains-are-calling-you kind of Instagram advertisement. Back in 2014 when I started The Wedding Planning Planning Company, I wanted to do something different with it; we found our ground with just our first big wedding in 2015.

Ever since, we have been working on a Green Wedding module, offering eco-friendly wedding solutions and working with local craftsmen amidst the most beautiful hills in the north of India.

As I finish writing this piece, our association begins and lots of stories follow. Keep reading our blogs for all the masala on weddings and if you have a wedding in your family, meet us for a cup of Chai!

We specialise in wedding planning for intimate, authentic and cozy gatherings that are all about love, magic, and the pure joy of getting married

We love it when the bride and the groom, and their families can't stop gushing over the arrangements made for them. But, a fabulous wedding is a result of great team-work by these heroes; they are our real strength. We love and respect them for their commitment and contribution that makes TWPC what it is today.

  These ninjas make magic happen!
